Dear Mr. Del Guanto: This is to commend several of your staff members for their very helpful assistance during a recent road trip. On June 24th I was driving west on I-80 to my home in Nevada when a display on my BMW X5 indicated that after 1,000 more miles, the low DEF level would affect vehicle operation. Being 2,000 miles from home, I was naturally concerned about where and how to add the fluid (and a check of the owner’s manual indicated that a special tool was involved, so I wasn’t inclined to try to handle it myself). This being early on a Saturday morning, I went to the vehicle’s BMW directory, located your dealership, and the nav system guided me there. In short, the staff was wonderful; Gary, who was working in the detail building in back, quickly took care of the matter. Ashley and Andrew provided a car wash, and Taylor and Payton were very friendly as well. I’ve owned three BMWs (my wife has an X3), am dedicated to this brand, and am very particular about their service needs. So, again, the above situation at 2,000 miles from home was a bit distressing; your staff was like finding an oasis in the middle of a desert. I just wanted to make you aware of this pleasant experience, and hope you will pass along my thanks to them. Sincerely, Ken Peak

Last minute oil change appointment

My work scheduled was light on a Friday so I thought it a good opportunity to get the oil changed in the Z-3 since it had been in storage for the winter. Called BMW of Schererville to get oil changed and was told there were no openings until the next Wednesday. Called BMW in South Bend, which is were the car was actually purchased, and was told to come right in. Oil change was completed in about a half hour. Greg is the service manager for the BMW side and I would like to thank him for taking such good car of me on short notice.
