Every xDrive50e combines the same V6 engine with an electric motor to up the power rating to 483 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. Along with going from zero to 60 mph in a mere 4.6 seconds, these SUVs can travel up to 40 miles on electric power alone.
More power is had by choosing an X5 with a twin-turbocharged V8, 4.4-liter engine, and electric motor to produce 523 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque. The vehicles achieve 60 mph in 4.2 seconds.
Top-level X5 M Competition drivetrains have higher-tuned versions of the twin-turbocharged V8 and electric motor setup to generate 617 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque. Competition configurations enable the vehicles to hit 60 mph in 3.7 seconds.
By adding the appropriate tow package, the X5 hauls up to 7,200 pounds.
